My name is Renee Hourigan, I am 50 years old and have been married to my husband Dan for the past 30 years. We have 2 beautiful children and 1 grandchild. Our daughter Brittanie is 30 and has been married for 5 years and had her first child March 2023. Our son Daniel is 25 and is engaged to be married in September 2024. Both are successful in their careers. I am also proud to say that I am a cancer survivor of 7 years. The hardest thing I ever did was beat it but did it and promised myself that I would live everyday like it was my last with no regrets.

I worked in the school systems for 22 years, and in 2018 decided that it was time for a change, the commute was taking its toll on me. I changed career paths and became a business owner. This allows me more freedom and allows me to spend my days with my grandson.

My love for travel came at an early age, my parents took me on trips every year to different places and I looked forward to each year to discover the new places. In the summer of my senior year of high school I was accepted onto a travel dance company that traveled for 10 weeks in the summer all over the United States making 32 stops.

After I met my husband and we started a family, we decided that it was time to start the tradition with our family to travel every year to another destination. We have traveled to over 30 states, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. My favorite place to travel to every year is Disney, we go every year and then travel to another place whether it’s a cruise or to another destination. Disney is by far my
favorite place; I am a huge Disney fan. We have taken our grandson 3 times since he’s been born (he’s 7 months). I love to try new places to eat and stay each time we have gone. We have stayed on property and off property. We traveled with as little as just me and my husband to 25 people, where I was the group leader taking care of all the details prior to and during the trip.

My love for travel is a true passion that I have, and I love making memories with my family. I asked my kids 5 years ago to name things that I bought for them over the past 5 years and if they still had them. They of course said no and truly couldn’t remember what was bought for them. Then I asked them to tell me what we had done and seen and then could remember every trip, even the little day trips. Making memories is important we are not promised tomorrow.
