Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is the most popular family vacation destination in the entire world.  With four theme parks, 2 water parks, more than 25 resort hotels, hundreds of restaurants, recreation opportunities, golf, and a shopping, dining and entertainment district there is something here to offer everyone from couples to young families to multi-generational family gatherings.

Walt Disney World Resort consists of four theme parks—the most visited in the world.  The original park, Magic Kingdom, welcomes guests into a world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy.  Magic Kingdom is the quintessential Disney park and the first one that comes to most people’s minds when planning a Walt Disney World vacation.  Epcot is a large park that has two distinct parts:  Future World and World Showcase.  Future World combines family friendly attractions, thrill rides, characters and fun that appeals to all ages.  In World Showcase guests, will find cultural experiences from around the globe including food, entertainment, shopping and more.  Twice a year Epcot hosts special festivals that add to the festive atmosphere at the park:  the International Flower & Garden Festival in the Spring and the International Food & Wine Festival in the Fall.  Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the third park and is going through a transition stage with many new attractions and lands to be added in the coming years.  Star Wars fans do not want to miss the offerings at this park, but you can also find Disney Junior characters to appeal to preschoolers, action packed stage shows, thrill rides and some great dining experiences all with the feel and atmosphere of old Hollywood.  Animal Kingdom is Disney’s newest theme park offering real life animal encounters to guests.  Top billing goes to the amazing Kilimanjaro Safari that takes you out on the African Savanna.  At Animal Kingdom, you will also find high quality musical stage shows, thrill rides, animal discover trails, Disney characters and much more.  No visit to Walt Disney World would be complete without sampling each park.
Walt Disney World is home to two amazing Water Parks:  Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.  At each water park, you can cool off while enjoying the wave pool, speed slides, family raft rides, lazy river and play areas for smaller children.  Water Parks can be added on to your Magic Your Way ticket with an option that also includes other recreation choices.  Your Dream Vacation Maker can help you determine if this choice is right for your vacation.

If that isn’t enough to keep you busy on your Walt Disney World vacation your Dream Vacation Maker can arrange and suggest any number of recreational activities before or during your trip including golf, miniature golf, horseback riding, archery lessons, boat rentals, fishing excursions and more.

With over 25 resorts to choose from on Disney property, there is an option for every budget and need. LBAC Travel recommends choosing to stay “onsite” at Walt Disney World to make the most out of your vacation experience.  Resort categories range from deluxe villas to value resorts.  The Deluxe Villa resorts have different size accommodations to meet the needs of families of all sizes from Grand multi-bedroom units to studios.  The 1 bedroom and larger villas have full kitchens with a washer and dryer in the villa to maximize convenience and the home away from home feeling.  Deluxe Resorts offer nicely sized standard hotel rooms with options for suites as well.  These resorts tend to be in the best locations on property (like those on the monorail line or within walking distance to Epcot).  They offer multiple onsite amenities including table service restaurants, lounges, recreation, pools, and the option of staying Club Level for more amenities.  The next category are the Moderate resorts.  Rooms are smaller than the Deluxe option but larger than the Value resorts.  Many guests comment on the relaxing feeling of these resorts with lush landscaping and elaborate themes.  You may even choose to stay in specially themed rooms at some resorts including a Pirates room or a Princess room.  Onsite amenities include food courts, a feature pool with a waterslide, lounges and a table service restaurant.  The Value resort category is the most economical group at Walt Disney World, but by no means lessens your experience.  These resorts have some of the most recognizable Disney theming with giant icons decorating the landscape.  The smaller rooms here have full size beds and a single vanity.  Two of the resorts also offer Family Suites to accommodate larger families of up to 6 people per suite.  Although there are fewer amenities at these resorts, you will find fun themed pools, large food courts, a gift shop and a pool bar.

All of Walt Disney World’s on property resorts share the same perks for guests.  You can create a Magic Your Way Package at any of these resorts with your LBAC Travel Dream Vacation Maker that includes tickets for the number of days you wish to play and a dining plan that fits your travel needs.  You may also have the option to book a “room only” reservation through your LBAC Travel agent at a resort, but most guests find it most economical and convenient to create the package that best fits your needs.  As a Walt Disney World Resort guest, you are entitled to the following perks:
•    Complimentary use of Disney’s Magical Express roundtrip airport shuttle
•    Transportation throughout the Walt Disney World Resort to the theme parks, water parks, Downtown Disney & resort hotels
•    Magic Bands
•    Charging privileges back to your room account & package delivery
•    Extra Magic Hours (an extra hour in the morning or 2-3 at night to enjoy select attractions at scheduled theme parks—only for Walt Disney World Resort Guest)
•    Ability to schedule dining reservations for your entire vacation 180 days in advance, and FastPass+ arrangements 60 days in advance

Disney Springs is an amazing destination for shopping, dining and entertainment.  No ticket is required to enter this area, but you will want to budget for it.  Recently completed renovations have opened many new shops that include national retailers, specialty shops, and Disney themed shops.  Dining in Disney Springs is particularly impressive with a wide array of culinary experiences to appeal to everyone.  If you are looking for a little fun on a day outside of the parks look no further than Disney Springs for bowling, a tethered hot air balloon, amphicars and a movie theater.  Cirque du Soleil has its own theater in Disney Springs with a show, La Nouba, that you can only see at Walt Disney World.
